More autonomy for farmers through advanced soil and plant analyses
With the new project PotatoSense, SG Papertronics B.V. and Bioclear earth are working on a user-friendly, smart and affordable tool that lets farmers carry out their own soil and plant analyses. This gives farmers more autonomy, lower costs and better decisions for a healthy and productive
#aardappelteelt.
At the heart of it is the Q-Tector, an innovative, portable testing system that helps farmers optimize crop growth with less artificial fertilizer. By combining biotechnology, AI and practical knowledge from farmers gained in earlier projects, the partners are building on proven technology (the Beer-o-Meter).
The key innovation is that farmers become less dependent on external laboratories. With smart tools like the Q-Tector and expert advice, they gain faster insight into soil and plant health and retain control over their own data and costs.
The project also doesn’t focus solely on innovation during its runtime — the tool remains in use after the project ends too, so growers can keep sustainably improving their operations. A great project taking the next step toward sustainable hashtag
